Senior Naval Architect

I am currently seeking a skilled Naval Architect join a major international renewable energy company located in the Rotterdam/The Hague area. The ideal candidate should have 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar position.

Our client is a well-established company that operates fully-owned vessels with significant lifting capacities. These vessels can handle lifts from cargo barges offshore and offer an efficient operational execution, enabling the company to undertake large-scale and complex projects worldwide.

Job information

The role of Naval Architect is performed within the Specialist Engineering team that supports the projects in tender, engineering and offshore execution.

As a Naval Architect, you will be responsible for performing single and multi-body motion behavior and workability analysis for marine operations, mooring and dynamic positioning analysis, strength and stability calculations for crane vessels and transportation barges, load out, transportation, and towage engineering. Additionally, you will prepare design documents and in-house analysis reports, develop engineering tools, specifications, guidelines, and procedures, attend internal and client meetings, yard visits, mobilizations, and offshore works. You will also be required to keep abreast of relevant technological advancements.

Your profile

• BSc/ /MSc degree in Naval Architecture, Marine or Offshore Technology
• Experience in offshore, renewables or shipbuilding is preferred
• Multi body hydrodynamics and/or CFD background would be a big plus
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as (Ansys AQWA, Ansys Fluent/CFX, Lodic Shipshape/Shipload, Autohydro, Matlab, Python, Mathcad, GMoor, Optimoor, DPCap, MS Office) is preferred
• Good command of English
